Last Sunday, my family and I had a picnic in the park. The weather was perfect—sunny but not too hot. We packed a big basket with delicious food and brought a blanket to sit on. It was a day full of fun and great food. Let me tell you all about it!

Arriving at the Park

We arrived at the park in the morning. The grass was green and soft, and there were tall trees providing shade. We found a nice spot near a small lake. My little brother ran to feed the ducks while my parents and I set up the picnic.

The Food We Ate

Our picnic basket was full of tasty treats. First, we started with sandwiches. My mom made ham and cheese sandwiches for everyone. They were simple but so good! Then, we had fresh fruit. There were slices of watermelon, juicy oranges, and sweet strawberries. My dad also brought potato chips, which were crunchy and salty.

For dessert, my mom surprised us with homemade cookies. They were chocolate chip, my favorite! My little brother ate three cookies and got chocolate all over his face. We laughed so much.

Afternoon Activities

After eating, we played games. We brought a frisbee and a ball to throw around. My little brother tried to catch the frisbee, but it always went over his head. My parents sat under a tree and watched us play. Later, we took a walk around the lake and saw some turtles sunbathing on rocks.

Heading Home

When the sun started to set, we packed up our things and headed home. It was such a wonderful day. The food, the games, and the time with my family made it special. I can’t wait for our next picnic!
