Once upon a time, there was a very lazy cat named Oliver. Oliver lived in a small house with his owner, Sarah. While other cats liked to chase mice or climb trees, Oliver only wanted to sleep and eat. This is the story of Oliver and his funniest day.
Morning Trouble
One sunny morning, Sarah decided to clean the house. She asked Oliver for help. "Oliver, can you move so I can clean your favorite spot on the sofa?" she said. Oliver opened one eye, yawned, and rolled over. "Not now, I’m busy sleeping," he seemed to say.
Sarah shook her head and laughed. "You are the laziest cat in the world!" she said.
The Flying Toy
Later that day, Sarah found an old toy mouse under the sofa. She threw it across the room and said, "Catch it, Oliver!" For a moment, Oliver looked interested. He stretched, got up slowly, and walked toward the toy. But halfway there, he sat down and decided it was too much work. "Maybe later," he thought.
The Hungry Moment
At lunchtime, Oliver smelled something delicious. Sarah was cooking fish! Oliver jumped off the sofa and ran to the kitchen. "Now you can move!" Sarah said, laughing. She gave Oliver a small piece of fish, and he purred happily.
The Unexpected Visitor
In the afternoon, something surprising happened. A little bird flew into the house through the open window. The bird hopped around the room, chirping loudly. Sarah thought Oliver would try to catch the bird, but Oliver just watched it with half-closed eyes. The bird landed near Oliver, but he didn’t move. "Too much effort," Oliver seemed to think.
Evening Fun
At the end of the day, Sarah sat on the sofa with Oliver. "You didn’t do much today, as usual," she said, scratching his ears. Oliver purred and stretched. "That’s because I’m not just a lazy cat," he seemed to say. "I’m a smart cat who knows how to relax."
Sarah laughed and hugged him. "You’re right, Oliver. You are one funny, lazy cat."
